2022 IASLC Reviewer Workshop

The IASLC invites applications for participation in our 2022 Reviewer Workshop, to be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 in Vienna, Austria (in conjunction with the 2022 World Conference on Lung Cancer). Read below for more information regarding the workshop and how to apply.

About the Reviewer Workshop While peer review is critical to academic publishing and research, formal training opportunities for young physician scientists are limited. In an effort to improve reviewer performance and quality of manuscript reviews, the IASLC and JTO/JTO CRR will conduct a formalized workshop to train reviewers, in particular, to be able to make judgments on impact of manuscripts, which is the most difficult part of the review process. This one-day workshop will be held before the 2022 WCLC to train young and mid-career IASLC members in manuscript review.
Workshop Objectives

The goal of the Reviewer Workshop is to build up a pool of excellent reviewers for IASLC journals. Workshop participants will gain an overall understanding of the review process and will learn:

  • The technical aspects of publishing, ethics and publication guidelines
  • To be critical reviewers
  • To be capable of judging the impact of a manuscript
  • To make decisions consistent with the impact factor of the journal under consideration

Workshop participants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
