2023 IASLC Board of Directors Nominations - CLOSED JANUARY 25

The IASLC Nominating Committee invites all IASLC Members to submit nominations for candidates to stand for election to serve on the IASLC Board of Directors.The IASLC is committed to diversity in the delivery of its mission and at all levels of the organization, including its Board of Directors, and supports the nomination and election of diverse candidates. The IASLC believes that having a Board of Directors of diverse gender, race, and ethnicity--along with varied skills, perspectives, and experiences--contributes to a balanced and effective Board.

About the IASLC Board of Directors The IASLC’s multidisciplinary board brings a wealth of clinical and scientific thoracic oncology expertise, a close familiarity with institutional leadership and tremendous passion for ongoing improvements to care of patients with lung cancer. The IASLC Board of Directors is the association's highest governing body and is responsible for setting the association's strategic priorities and direction. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates for the IASLC Board of Directors must meet the following eligibility criteria: 

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ IASLC membership, in good standing.
  • Previous IASLC service, such as, but not limited to:
    • IASLC committee service
    • member of the organizing committee or invited faculty (speaker or discussant) for any IASLC conference
    • reviewer or Editorial Board Member of JTO/JTO CRR
    • participation in IASLC's scientific surveys, such as molecular survey, COVID 19, etc. 
    • invited speaker for any IASLC webinar or podcast
  • Prominence in the field. 
  • Active commitment to and understanding of IASLC and its mission, vision, and values.
  • Must be able to commit to requisite years of service for Board role. 
Open Positions

The IASLC is seeking nominations of qualified individuals to serve on the Board of Directors in the positions outlined below. 

President-Elect

(1 position)

Criteria: Only members who are from and are currently practicing in the Asia/Rest of World region (includes Africa, Asia, Australia, Latin America, and more) and who have previously served on the IASLC Board of Directors, but have not previously served as IASLC President, are eligible for the President-Elect seat.

Term: 2023-2025

Undesignated Board Positions

(6 positions)

Criteria: We are seeking qualified candidates from Asia, Europe, Latin America, North America, and Rest of World from within the following specialties:

  • Radiation Oncology
  • Medical Oncology
  • Pathology
  • Pulmonary Medicine
  • Thoracic Surgery
  • Other specialties associated with Thoracic Oncology

Term: 2023-2027 (4 years)
How to Nominate a Colleague

To nominate a colleague to serve on the IASLC Board of Directors, follow these instructions:

  • CLICK HERE to access the Nominate a Colleague form. (opens in new tab)
  • When prompted to log in, use your IASLC Member Portal credentials.
    • If you do not know your credentials, click on the "Reset your Password" link to recover your user name and/or reset your password. If you are still unable to login, please email membership@iaslc.org. 
  • Complete the brief online form to Nominate a Colleague. 
  • The colleague that you nominated will receive an email inviting them to complete a separate form in order to accept the nomination and be considered for the Board. (See the next section for more details.) 

The deadline to Nominate a Colleague is Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 12:00pm (noon) Denver time (MST).
How to Accept a Colleague's Nomination or Nominate Yourself

  • When prompted to log in, use your IASLC Member Portal credentials.
    • If you do not know your credentials, click on the "Reset your Password" link to recover your user name and/or reset your password. If you are still unable to login, please email membership@iaslc.org. 
  • Complete the online form, including the following information:
    • Contact information
    • IASLC Membership and IASLC Service information
    • Demographic information
    • CV or biosketch
    • Professional photo (head shot)
    • Narrative biography (300 word limit)
    • Two letters of recommendation - The system will request the letters on your behalf and it will be uploaded directly into your application.
      • One of your recommendation letters must be from a current or previous IASLC Board Member.
      • If you are accepting a nomination from a colleague, you may wish to request a letter of recommendation from that colleague. If you've been nominated by more than one colleague, pick just one!
    • Responses to a number of short-answer questions designed to help determine your qualifications and suitability for IASLC Board Service.
  • Once you have started your form, you may save your work and return to the form to continue working or complete your form any time prior to the deadline.  

To be considered for IASLC Board Service, you must complete the full Nomination Form by Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 12:00pm (noon) Denver time (MST).
